Background
The European Directives WEEE (Directive 2002/96/EC on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) and RoHS (Directive 2002/95/EC on the Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances in electrical and electronic equipment) became European law on February 13th, 2003. Member states of the European Union have to convert this directive into national law by August 13th, 2004.
Conversion Cologne Chip has been working on the conversion to lead-free products since 2003. The board of management has set two objectives in this regard with highest prioritiy:
As a consequence of this early planning, Cologne Chip is glad to be RoHS-ready before the specified deadline: As expected, the conversion of the current product line has been completed by the end of 2005.

Cologne Chip's latest chip family, the XHFC series, is also RoHS compliant.
